Church Location
The Coats of Arms above the entrance to the tower porch are those of the City of London (left) and Coleraine (right), The Bell Tower is 114 feet high and contains a peal of eight bells. The sculpture work in and around the porches of the south door and the tower entrance was executed by Coleraine craftsman, Charles McGowan. The porch contains a Mosaic of St. Patrick. Above this hang eleven Flags of various organisations linked to the Parish and also a few from the armed forces. Of particular interest is the flag of the original Ulster Volunteer Force, formed in 1913 as a union of anti Home Rule groups and organised on military basis.
The Drum over the interior door was used at the Battle of the Somme (1916). A Roll of Honour is found below on the adjacent wall. The Hamilton Memorial, an old stone tablet near the floor, commemorates the Hamilton brothers who fought for James If in the late 17th century. During the siege of Derry (1688), one of them (the 6th Earl of Abercorn) left the king's army to join the Derrymen within the besieged city. The War Memorial stands as testimony to the tragedy of conflict and to the memory (never forgotten) of those within this parish who lost their lives.
