Sunday 11th May 2008: The Day of Pentecost - Whitsunday
Almighty God, who
on the day of Pentecost sent your Holy Spirit to the apostles with the wind
from heaven and in tongues of flame, filling them with joy and boldness to
preach the gospel: By the power of the same Spirit strengthen us to witness
your truth and to draw everyone to the fire of your love; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.

MISSION IN ST.
PATRICK’S
In St. Patrick’s we are
committed to supporting the mission of the Church. We do this in a variety of ways: by
giving, by praying, by going, certainly by keeping ourselves informed.
If you want to find out more, and how you can be involved, please
come to the Minor Hall on Wednesday night at 8.00pm.
On the
mission table: 60th birthday for Israel – reports available.

Witnesses of Hope Psalm
33:18-22; 1 Peter 3:15
We need to be people
who are always prepared to give a reason for our hope in Jesus.
Give thanks: for Jesus’ love, forgiveness, guidance
and protection.
Pray: for a fresh understanding of who I am in
Christ, so I can bring good news to those I meet today; for Christian organisations working to share the gospel in word and
deed; for the planning of Hope08 projects taking place in my area over the
summer; for someone I know who has wandered away from their faith.
Consider: getting together with two of your friends to each pray for three
others who are far from Jesus.
I pray
that for my community, 2008 will be a year of:
Healing for those who are
broken
Order where there is chaos
Protection for the vulnerable
Enterprise for
all.
