PRAYER

PRAYER AND YOU

We believe that prayer releases God's blessing and that God is pleased to come and transform individual lives, churches, communities, institutions, towns and cities. All over the world God is responding to the prayers of His people.

PRAYER EVENTS

 PRAYER DAY

Each week, Tuesday is set-aside in the parish especially to seek the Lord in prayer for all sorts of situations. St Patrick’s church building is open from 10.00am to 3.00 pm for people to take time out to pray. You are welcome to come, pray, and go as you please. A church watcher is always available to help.  MEN’S PRAYER TIME

Band of Brothers is a group of men of all ages, committed to pray and intercede together for the coming of God’s Kingdom in our church, our community and our country. Meeting every Thursday evening in the Minor Hall, at 9.30p.m we have a vision to worship and pray together and seek God to reveal more of Himself, His mighty power and infinite love in and through the churches of St. Patrick’s and St. Andrew’s and beyond. Further details are available from Jeff Wilson or the Parish Office. Please contact the Parish Office 028 70344213.

The agenda is straightforward – making time and space to engage with God.  FAMILY@PRAYER

The vision for this prayer time is to bring together women with a heart to pray for their families and the strengthening of family life in general; to grow together as women of God; and to encourage and support each other in our ministries to our families. We meet weekly (normally on a Tuesday from 10.45am -12.00 noon) in St Patrick’s. Details are available from Helen Cushion, Norah Nevin or the Parish Office.TEL:028 70344213

 PRAYER MINISTRY

Prayer Ministry is available during or after every Sunday service and on Wednesdays 1.00pm - 2.00pm in church. Whatever you need - be it physical, emotional or spiritual, for yourself or others - this is a wonderful opportunity to bring it before the Lord and be ministered with in a confidential and sensitive manner. If you cannot get to church and would like someone to pray with you at home, this can be arranged by contacting Billy Holmes or Ruth Hannah via the Parish Office. TEL:028 70344213

PRAYER REQUESTS

Our parish has a number of ways to facilitate prayer requests from parishioners:

 CRISIS MOBILE

This is a quick-reaction, short- term prayer mobile telephone system set up so that requests for prayer may be communicated quickly to people who will 'stand in the gap" and support someone in prayer during a crisis period in their life. Within a short period of time over 40 contacts will be lifting the crisis situation to Almighty God. Any information shared will be treated in confidence.

 HOME PRAY-ERS
We have a group of people who serve the church by praying faithfully at home over our Parish Prayer Focus each week, prayer requests from children each month and longer-term prayer requests. Priceless.

 ALL-AGE PRAYER TREE

During our monthly All-Age service, led in prayer and worship by our Junior Worship Group, we have a Prayer Tree which facilities anonymous prayer requests from children and adults – if you’re at this service – feel free to leave your seat at any stage and go and hang a request on the Prayer Tree (normally next the Welcome Desk). These requests are then prayed over each month by our Home Pray-ers group.

PRAYER TRIPLETS

Presently, we’re unsure of the number of prayer triplets, duplets or quads who meet together. If you are in a triplet (duplet or quad) or wish to join one - please let us know. Please contact the Parish Office 028 70344213.

WHAT TO PRAY FOR?

There is just so much to pray for that sometimes we get lost and so bewildered that we just don’t pray.

 STAND FOR PRAYER

Stand for Prayer gives some guidelines as to what to pray for and how to pray – how do we pray for the news? – and who we can pray for. There are also some very informative Pray Through The News sheet and also Prayer Diaries, eg, Christian Renewal Centre. Take a look next time you’re in and take a STAND FOR PRAYER. or please contact the Parish Office 028 70344213.

 PARISH PRAYER FOCUS
Is produced every week and is very relevant to our Parish – look out for one on the Welcome Desk in St Patrick’s, particularly on Prayer Day.
